Diamond anvils
The most affordable and compact equipment for the experiments concludes in investigating the matter, located at a given temperature and pressure, is
a cell with diamond anvils.
The construction of such cell requires two tapered diamonds transmitting compressive force to the working sites with a diameter less than a millimeter. Due to the exceptional hardness of diamond pressure can be achieved up to several million atmospheres, and in a wide spectral range the transparency of diamonds allows to research the sample by using a variety of methods. With current methods of heating the sample the method of diamond cells is unique at the range of temperatures and pressures.
